Mission and Activities
The purpose of our youth group is to educate our children about their Cretan heritage and to facilitate connections by allowing members to meet peers with similar backgrounds from across the country.
The youth group organizes fundraisers for charity, and to raise money for events, dances, and other activities for members to attend.
Membership Requirements
- The member must be between the ages of 15 and 30.
- The member's parents must be members in good standing with the club.
- The members must register before the age of 25. Individuals registering after this age are asked to join the adult chapter.
Youth Group History
In 1947, the youth club was created and named ΝΕΟΚΡΗΤΕΣ (A.K.N.), which stands for ΑΜΕΡΙΚΑΝΙΚΗ ΚΡΗΤΙΚΗ ΝΕΟΛΑΙΑ (American Cretan Youth).
In 1970, a new youth club was established under the name CRETAN YOUTH OF DETROIT. The name LEVENDOYENNA was later added.
