For over 90 years, our organization has provided its members with a place to call home and feel welcome, while educating the youth on the Cretan heritage by offering Greek School, Dance Lessons, cooking courses and Cretan youth activities. Created to give Cretan immigrants a place where they would always be welcome, today’s members continue that tradition and hope to pass it along for generations to come, as the founding fathers did for us. The chapter was established in 1923 and it was incorporated in 1932.

Incorporated in 1932, The Cretan Association of Detroit is a non profit organization devoted to the cultivation and preservation of the history and the culture of Crete, Greece. The intentions of the organization are to create an inviting atmosphere through dance, events, and social gatherings for member of all ages and backgrounds. The organization will promote the Cretan heritage through dance, music and historical activities. |
